We are pleased to announce that our guests are on buses heading toward Louisiana! The North Davis Shelter officially closed at 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 3, 2008.
We want to express our thanks to all the North Davis volunteers who helped make this ministry opportunity a success. Our goal was to serve others in the name of Jesus in ways that were most helpful for them and our partners. We would also like to thank the following: The City of Arlington (Emergency Planning, Fire Department / EMT, Police Department, Mayor and City Council); The American Red Cross, community volunteers and other local churches such as First Christian and Woodland West Church of Christ.
At North Davis, we desire to be a church that seeks and serves God and others with love. Your hospitality and servant hearts help make this church a special family!
Congregational Prayer Time Tuesday Evenings, 7pm (in the Parlor)
Wednesdays @ 7pm: "Summer on the Mount..." Join us as we take an in-depth look at the inside-out, upside-down teaching of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.
For Today...
"Lord, we are mindful of your in-breaking kingdom all around and through us. Use us as your hands and feet to serve each and every person we come in contact with. In particular we are especially mindful of those preparing to face Hurricane Gustav across the Gulf and its surrounding states. May we serve as you would have us and may we do so in the name and power of Jesus."
